NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan; President & CEO, Toshiki Nakayama), through the fund it operates, invested in GENOVA, Inc. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan; President & CEO, Tomoki Hirase; hereinafter referred to as “GENOVA”), which provides marketing support services for clients mainly in the medical industry.

1.Overview of the investment
NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc., through the investment fund it operates, acquired the stocks of GENOVA through third-party allocation.

2.Background
Since its establishment, GENOVA has mainly developed business specialized in the medical industry and played a role in connecting patients and hospitals by utilizing technology. By utilizing the data cultivated in the marketing supporting business that started from creating homepages, the company develops services from recruitment to reservations etc. and tries to accumulate various data and expand its business.

The company now aims to expand their electronic patient ID app, “NOMOCa” business by utilizing accumulated data and the relationship they have cultivated with hospitals up to now, and will try to further extend to the business field with the aim of including payment settlement function in the future. The main purpose of this service is to improve efficiency of the business process in hospitals and will provide functions such as patients’ ID function, patient care, reservation and credit payment.

GENOVA, through its patients’ ID app “NOMOCa,” aims to enhance convenience for various medical institutions such as clinics and their patients. “Medicine Notebook Link®,” an electronic medicine notebook app provided by NTT DOCOMO, INC. to connect pharmacy and patients is strongly aligned with the services provided by GENOVA and through their cooperation, we expect this to contribute to the further enhancement of convenience and the creation of new values.
