Invested in Sunpartner Technologies

NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan; President & CEO: Minoru Etoh) today announced its investment in Sunpartner Technologies (headquartered in Aix-en-Provence, France, CEO; Ludovic Deblois, hereinafter referred to as “Sunpartner”), a developer of advanced solar power generation solutions.

1.Overview of the investment

Through the investment fund operated by the company, NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc. completed the investment by joining the funding round for Sunpartner.

2.Background

Sunpartner strives to provide independent and highly reliable power supplies by utilizing renewable energy sources. Sunpartner designs/develops transmissive solar panels and deploys the license business by focusing on solar light as an energy source. Sunpartner ‘s technology can be applied to small devices, such as smartphones, windows for buildings and vehicles, as well as glass surfaces on various industrial products. Sunpartner is currently considering deploying the business with partner companies. This initiative of Sunpartner is highly expected to rapidly grow in the renewable energy-related area in the future due to the innovative technology and the broad applicable areas.
