NTT DOCOMO Ventures Invests in KG Motors Inc., Which Develops the Single-Seater Compact EV “mibot”

NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO & CCO: Yuko Sasahara; hereinafter “NTT DOCOMO Ventures”) is pleased to announce that, through a fund it manages, it has invested in KG Motors Inc. (Headquarters: Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture; Representative Director and CEO: Kazunari Kusunoki; hereinafter “KG Motors”), the developer of the single-seater compact EV, “mibot.”

KG Motors is a startup that develops “mibot,” a compact single-seater mini EV specifically designed for short-distance travel in daily life, with the aim of creating a world where everyone can move freely, safely, comfortably, and affordably. In Japan, with a declining population and an aging society, an increasing number of areas are finding it difficult to maintain public transportation, making it a challenge to secure daily means of transportation. Furthermore, in companies and local governments, there is a growing need for increased efficiency and labor savings in field operations and on-site movement. KG Motors is working to address these diverse needs by implementing low-cost, highly practical, single-seater compact electric vehicles (EVs) into society. The vehicle is already being tested and utilized by local governments and regional businesses, and efforts toward social implementation are steadily progressing.

The NTT DOCOMO Group is working to create new value in the mobility sector through its communication networks and data utilization infrastructure. Through this investment, we aim to deepen our collaboration with KG Motors and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
