DOCOMO Innovation Fund IV Announces Theme and Core Areas —Connect. Create. Cultivate Culture—

NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO & CCO: Yuko Sasahara; hereinafter, “NDV”) is pleased to announce that it has established the theme and core investment areas for the fund it manages, the “DOCOMO Innovation Fund IV, L.P. (hereinafter the “DI4 Fund”).”

The DI4 Fund is a corporate venture investment fund established in January 2026 by three companies: NTT DOCOMO, INC., NTT FINANCE CORPORATION, and NDV. With a fund size of 15 billion yen, the fund is intended to help NTT DOCOMO Group achieve business growth through open innovation in the 2030s^*.

The theme that has been chosen for the DI4 Fund is “Connect. Create. Cultivate Culture.” In an era where technological evolution and shifts in societal and individual values are progressing simultaneously, it aims to create cultural and industrial transformation by leveraging the new connections emerging between people, between people and society, and between people and technology. This theme also aligns with the DOCOMO Group Vision: “Bridging worlds with technology and integrity to inspire value creation and fill the world with happiness.”

For the DI4 Fund, five core investment areas have been defined by taking a multifaceted approach to the theme of connections from the perspectives of technology, communication, culture, social infrastructure, and societal challenges.

These are fields where new value and industries are created through mutual interaction. The DI4 Fund will enhance investments in startups in Japan and overseas across various sectors and promote the creation of new businesses over the medium to long term through partnerships with NTT DOCOMO Group companies.

Through this fund, NDV will continue to accelerate new businesses through investment and co-creation initiatives in promising startups, leading to the resolution of social issues and the creation of new value.
