NTT DOCOMO Ventures Invests in Minto Inc., a Producer of Content for Social Media, Webtoon, Web3 and Other Platforms

NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Jun Yasumoto; hereinafter, “NDV”) is pleased to announce that, through a fund that it manages, it has invested in Minto Inc, (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Kazuhiro Mizuno; hereafter “Minto”), a company that produces manga and anime content for social media, Webtoon, Web3 and other platforms.

Minto works with creators active in the fields of intellectual property (IP) and social media to assist companies in their marketing efforts. With one of Japan’s largest networks of creators (more than 250), the company is able to undertake all aspects of the IP business, from planning to production and distribution.
　It is also involved in license management for companies and creators, as well as IP development through its own studio, opening a production studio specializing in webtoon in 2021. Currently, it is working on the global roll-out of IP originating from Japan.

The DOCOMO Group is working to strengthen its content business in the fields of video and entertainment. In addition to developing services such as “dAnime Store” and “dBook,” it is also engaged in the development of new content utilizing the Metaverse, Web3, and other technologies. By taking this investment as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with Minto, with its expertise in content development, we aim to create new value with the DOCOMO Group.
