NTT DOCOMO Ventures Invests in Baseconnect Inc., Provider of “Musubu,” a Corporate Information Database to Support Corporate Sales Activities

NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yuko Sasahara; hereinafter, “NDV”) is pleased to announce that, through a fund that it manages, it has invested in Baseconnect Inc. (Head Office: Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture; Representative Director: Yuki Kunishige; hereinafter, “Baseconnect”), provider of the corporate information database “Musubu,” which supports corporate sales activities from market targeting to closing deals.

In recent years, the advance of digital transformation has made the application of data in sales activities increasingly important, but the reality is that at present, data is not being used efficiently, as so much time is taken up by collecting and analyzing data from sales partners.

Against this backdrop, Baseconnect offers Musubu, a cloud-based corporate information database that supports corporate sales activities from market targeting to closing deals. Musubu holds more than 1.4 million pieces of corporate data and provides total support for sales activities, from essential tasks such as the creation of sales lists to the execution and management of approaches. In particular, the corporate data provided by Musubu is independently generated through a combination of technology and human effort, enabling highly accurate data collection. The ability to filter companies by various criteria such as sales performance, industry, and number of employees makes it easy for anyone to create a sales list. In addition, the system includes functions such as sending batch emails to those on sales lists as well as case management, enabling the execution of approaches and management of sales activities.

Musubu has been deployed by more than 100,000 companies as of 2023 and supports sales representatives in a wide range of companies, from publicly listed companies to small and medium-sized enterprises, improving their operational efficiency and providing support for effective sales activities.

This investment was prompted by the high affinity between their initiatives and NTT Group’s service of providing corporate customers with digital transformation solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency and supporting sales activities.
